2 Denn1063 so1487 ich1473 euch5209 traurig3076 mache2165, wer5101 ist2076, der mich1700 fröhlich mache2165, ohne1508 der da2532 von1537 mir3165 betrübet3076 wird3076?

2 For if1487 I make3076 you sorry,3076 who5101 is he then2532 that makes2165 me glad,2165 but the same which is made3076 sorry3076 by me?

3 Und2532 dasselbige habe2192 ich5124 euch5213 geschrieben1125, daß3363 ich nicht, wenn3739 ich käme, traurig3077 sein2064 müßte1163, über1909 welche ich mich3165 billig sollte freuen5463, sintemal ich mich des846 zu575 euch5209 allen3956 versehe3982, daß3754 meine1699 Freude5479 euer5216 aller3956 Freude sei2076.

4 Denn1063 ich schrieb1125 euch5213 in1223 großer4183 Trübsal2347 und2532 Angst4928 des Herzens2588 mit viel4183 Tränen1144, nicht3756 daß2443 ihr1097 solltet betrübet werden3076, sondern235 auf1519, daß ihr die3739 Liebe26 erkennetet, welche ich habe2192 sonderlich4056 zu1537 euch5209.

4 For out of much4183 affliction2347 and anguish4928 of heart2588 I wrote1125 to you with many4183 tears;1144 not that you should be grieved,3076 but that you might know1097 the love26 which3739 I have2192 more4056 abundantly4056 to you.

5 So aber1161 jemand1536 eine Betrübnis hat angerichtet3076, der hat nicht3756 mich1691 betrübet3076, ohne zum575 Teil3313, auf daß3363 ich nicht3363 euch5209 alle3956 beschwere.

5 But if1487 any5100 have2192 caused3076 grief,3076 he has not grieved3076 me, but in part:3313 that I may not overcharge1912 you all.3956

6 Es ist5108 aber genug2425, daß derselbige von5259 vielen4119 also3778 gestraft2009 ist.
|
6 Sufficient2425 to such5108 a man is this3778 punishment,2009 which3588 was inflicted of many.4119

7 daß5620 ihr5209 nun hinfort5121 ihm5108 desto4055 mehr3123 vergebet5483 und2532 tröstet3870, auf daß3381 er nicht in allzu große Traurigkeit3077 versinke2666.

7 So5620 that contrariwise5121 you ought rather3123 to forgive5483 him, and comfort3870 him, lest3381 perhaps3381 such5108 a one should be swallowed2666 up with overmuch4055 sorrow.3077

8 Darum1352 ermahne3870 ich euch5209, daß ihr846 die Liebe26 an1519 ihm beweiset2964.

8 Why1352 I beseech3870 you that you would confirm2964 your love26 toward1519 him.

9 Denn1063 darum habe ich5124 euch5216 auch2532 geschrieben1125, daß2443 ich erkennete, ob1487 ihr1097 rechtschaffen seid1382, gehorsam5255 zu1519 sein2075 in1519 allen3956 Stücken.

9 For to this5124 end also2532 did I write,1125 that I might know1097 the proof1382 of you, whether1487 you be obedient5255 in all3956 things.

10 Welchem3739 aber1161 ihr5209 etwas5100 vergebet5483, dem3739 vergebe ich1473 auch2532. Denn1063 auch ich1473, so ich etwas1536 vergebe jemandem, das3739 vergebe ich um euretwillen an1722 Christi5547 Statt4383,

10 To whom3739 you forgive5483 any5100 thing, I forgive5483 also:2532 for if1487 I forgave5483 any1536 thing, to whom3739 I forgave5483 it, for your5209 sakes forgave I it in the person4383 of Christ;5547

11 auf daß3363 wir nicht3756 übervorteilt werden4122 vom Satan4567; denn1063 uns ist nicht50 unbewußt, was er846 im Sinn3540 hat.

11 Lest2443 3361 Satan4567 should get4122 an advantage4122 of us: for we are not ignorant50 of his devices.3540

12 Da1722 ich aber1161 gen Troas5174 kam2064, zu1519 predigen das Evangelium2098 Christi5547, und2532 mir3427 eine Tür2374 aufgetan455 war in1519 dem HErrn2962,

12 Furthermore,1161 when I came2064 to Troas5174 to preach Christ's5547 gospel,2098 and a door2374 was opened455 to me of the Lord,2962

13 hatte2192 ich3165 keine3361 Ruhe425 in meinem Geist4151, da ich Titus5103, meinen3450 Bruder80, nicht3756 fand2147, sondern235 ich machte meinen3450 Abschied657 mit ihnen846 und fuhr aus1831 nach1519 Mazedonien3109.

13 I had2192 no3756 rest425 in my spirit,4151 because I found2147 not Titus5103 my brother:80 but taking my leave657 of them, I went1831 from there into1519 Macedonia.3109

14 Aber1161 GOtt2316 sei5485 gedankt, der uns2248 allezeit3842 Sieg gibt2358 in1722 Christo5547 und2532 offenbaret den Geruch3744 seiner Erkenntnis1108 durch1223 uns2257 an1722 allen3956 Orten5117.

14 Now1161 thanks5485 be to God,2316 which always3842 causes2358 us to triumph2358 in Christ,5547 and makes5319 manifest5319 the aroma3744 of his knowledge1108 by us in every3956 place.5117
|

15 Denn3754 wir sind2070 GOtt2316 ein guter Geruch2175 Christi5547, beide, unter1722 denen, die selig4982 werden622, und2532 unter1722 denen, die verloren werden:

15 For we are to God2316 a sweet2175 smell2175 of Christ,5547 in them that are saved,4982 and in them that perish:622
|
|
16 diesen ein Geruch3744 des3739 Todes2288 zum1519 Tode2288, jenen aber1161 ein Geruch3744 des Lebens2222 zum1519 Leben2222. Und2532 wer3739 ist3303 hiezu tüchtig2425?

16 To the one3303 we are the smell3744 of death2288 to death;2288 and to the other3739 the smell3744 of life2222 to life.2222 And who5101 is sufficient2425 for these5023 things?
|

17 Denn1063 wir sind2070 nicht3756 wie5613 etliche viele4183, die das Wort3056 Gottes2316 verfälschen2585, sondern235 als5613 aus1537 Lauterkeit1505 und235 als5613 aus1537 GOtt2316, vor2714 GOtt2316 reden2980 wir in1722 Christo5547.

17 For we are not as many,4183 which corrupt2585 the word3056 of God:2316 but as of sincerity,1505 but as of God,2316 in the sight2714 of God2316 speak2980 we in Christ.5547
